RiverCities Transit Limits Bus Occupancy to 10 Riders

Starting Wednesday, April 15, 2020, RiverCities Transit will limit the number of passengers on a bus to ten to allow for social distancing. Riders will be asked to wait while a second vehicle is dispatched to pick them up if the vehicle is at capacity. Dispatching additional vehicles has been working since April 1, but this will be the first time riders will be asked to wait if there are more than ten people on the bus.

Passengers are asked to board through the rear doors to minimize contact with the operator unless they are using a mobility device or require the ramp. Once onboard, passengers are encouraged to practice social distancing by sitting away from each other and wearing a cloth face covering as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

RiverCities Transit will continue to provide service to those that need to access essential jobs and lifeline services but urges riders to follow Governor Inslee’s Stay-at-Home Order and limit their trips in an effort to keep all of our community members healthy. All fixed routes are running a reduced Saturday level of service Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM until further notice.

Passengers who are unable to access essential services and jobs as a result of RCT’s service reductions are encouraged to contact RCT at (360) 442-5663 or [email protected]
